1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how ZuniqLabs ("we", "us", "our", "the Company") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the BatchBook mobile application and any related services (collectively, "the App"). BatchBook is available on Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store).

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. We reserve the right to update this policy at any time; the "Effective date" above will reflect the most recent revision.

3.3 Information from Third-Party Platforms

If you download the App from Google Play or the Apple App Store, those platforms may collect information according to their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for their data practices.

4. How Your Data is Stored

4.1 Local Storage (On-Device)

BatchBook is designed as an offline-first application. All student, batch, attendance, fee, payment, and test report data you enter is stored locally on your device using the platform's native database (Room on Android, SwiftData on iOS). This data never leaves your device except in the specific circumstances described below.

4.2 iCloud Sync (iOS Only)

On iOS, the App uses Apple's CloudKit framework to automatically sync your data to your personal iCloud account. This provides backup and multi-device access. This sync is governed by your Apple ID and Apple's privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data. You can manage iCloud storage and sync through your device's Settings.

4.3 No Company-Operated Servers

As of the effective date of this policy, we do not operate backend servers that store your data. There is no user account, login, or cloud database managed by ZuniqLabs. If we introduce cloud sync or backend services in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly, and you will be notified before any data is transmitted to our servers.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making, selling, or renting to third parties.

6. Information Shared with Third Parties

6.1 Analytics Providers

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies:

6.2 WhatsApp (User-Initiated Sharing)

The App allows you to send pre-composed messages through WhatsApp (e.g., fee reminders, payment receipts, attendance summaries). When you choose to share via WhatsApp, the message content — which may include student names, fee amounts, and attendance information — is passed to the WhatsApp application on your device. This sharing is initiated entirely by you and is governed by WhatsApp's / Meta's privacy policy. We do not send any data to WhatsApp or Meta directly.

6.3 Apple iCloud (iOS Only)

As described in Section 4.2, your data may be synced to your iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

6.4 System Share Sheet

The App offers a system share feature (e.g., "Share App"). When you use this feature, data is shared through your device's native sharing mechanism to the app or contact you choose. We have no control over the destination.

6.5 No Sale of Data

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to any third party for any purpose, including marketing, advertising, or data brokering.

7. Data Retention

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including setting a passcode and keeping your operating system updated.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 Access and Deletion

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can:

9.2 Analytics Opt-Out

If you wish to stop analytics data collection, you may contact us at the email address below to request guidance, or simply restrict the App's internet access through your device's network settings. We may introduce an in-app analytics opt-out toggle in a future update.

9.3 Notifications

You can disable reminder notifications at any time through the App's Settings screen or through your device's system notification settings.

9.4 Rights Under Applicable Law

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data, including:

10. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by teachers and tutors (adults) to manage their tuition business. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). Teachers may enter student information (including information about minors) as part of their teaching activities. Teachers are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate consent or legal basis to enter and manage student data within the App.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take steps to address the situation.

11. International Data Transfers

Analytics data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the European Union (PostHog EU) and the United States (Firebase/Google). These transfers are subject to the data protection mechanisms of the respective analytics providers. By using the App, you consent to such transfers to the extent they occur through our analytics providers.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If we make material changes that affect how we handle your personal data, we will notify you through the App or other appropriate means.
